Setting Goals
We start by setting some goals. We’ve all heard of the classic ‘lose weight and tone up’ but our bodies aren’t as simple as that. We will look at your current lifestyle, your current exercise plan and look at time frames that look realistic. Generally, a timeframe of a transformation can range between 8-12 weeks. There’s a lot of factors that can contribute to your timeframe so please trust the process and be patient!
You tell me a little bit more about yourself...
Kinda like a dating profile, we take a look at your favourite foods, maybe some exercises you don’t like (you can’t list them all though!) and any other struggles you may have encountered in the past. This could be anything from not being able to attend the gym to struggling with understanding food labels and macronutrients. I ask this because your plan is yours. All of my clients are different and therefore need a different approach and plan. This is one of the benefits of having a personal trainer, we can specify plans for your needs.
Consistency, Focus and Preparation
Preparation and focus is key. As much as I would like to...I can’t monitor clients 24/7 so I put a lot of trust and reliability on clients. Whether you're one of my online clients or a face-to-face client, I put a lot of trust in you to make smart choices when it comes to diet. I really strongly advise food prep (I can offer some great tips a professional food prepper myself!) and calorie tracking. If you’ve not prepared meals or tracked calories then it can be quite an adjustment
Let the transformation commence!
Everyone’s journey is different, you may find the first couple of weeks a breeze or you may find it difficult to adapt to. Don’t worry, this is my job to help coach you on your fitness journey. It won’t be easy, but I will help motivate and encourage you along the way. We will start by taking some before pictures and measurements. My advice to everyone is hide your scales! Your progress may not be reflecting in numbers but it will be evident in photographs. Many of my transformations don’t reflect a difference in scales of the numbers, why is this? Science. Muscle weighs heavier than fat so don’t be disheartened if the numbers don’t shift. That’s why we look at things such as body fat percentage and before and after photographs to monitor progress. So hide those scales...maybe in the bin?
